Fun Monday #8: Coming and Going

I wasn't blogging a year ago when Fun Monday started, so I am showing you the views from the front and the back of my house. I even threw in a couple of street shots. Even if I had been blogging, the view would have been different. We've just been in this house since July.

This is the view from the front porch. You can see my porch light in the top left hand corner of the picture. I'm an excellent photographer. Not. For the four pictures you see posted here, I probably took twenty.

This was taken at the end of my driveway, looking west.

This is looking east. When I took these pictures Sunday afternoon, it was cold, clear and sunny.

For this picture, I stood on the patio, just outside the back door. The field just behind the line of trees is where we see squirrels, deer, and if you believe my middle son, the occasional coyote.

Here is the link to the first post on my blog. It wasn't that long ago, just from April, 2007. I don't think I've grown much since then, although I have learned to post clickable pictures thanks to Laurie. (Not that I always do.) Oh, and people actually read my posts now. That first post? Not one comment.

Go on over and see my fellow Okie, Vicki, to check out the rest of the list. It'll be fun!

Here's something else I learned from Laurie: A gratuitous puppy pic. Maddy needs her sleep.

So much space. We don't have that here in medium/high density housing. Looks nice, but cold right now.

Ha, I am first. After reading your "unlisted" comment, I understand the "why" part. I grew up in SE OK and though I left for the AF in 84, I remember some shady characters in my home town as well. In fact, there are shady characters everywhere.
Glad you are enjoying your house. Very soon, that yard will be green and you'll spend your weekends mowing it... until about June.... Thanks for the view. By he way I rarely answer my phone anyway - it is always sales or finances.... NLM

Shoot almost first...

Well, I would have been third if the Nekked Lizard didn't stutter so badly.

Hi Kaycie! It looks like you live in a new subdivision. What's with the circle of trees in the front? I checked out your first blog post and found it very soulful.. Could reallyidentify with your life in a new place, new home and having to help son work through that too.

I love all the space around your house...I wish we had more! Your first post was very poignant...love that!!

Your not a bad photographer. Give yourself more credit :)
Your puppy is cute.
We have 2 8 1/2 week old puppies that I post pics of all the time.

Hey, Ped. We do have a lot of space. It is nice. Nice and cold.

Yes, NLM, there are weirdos everywhere. We do like our house. I actually do the mowing, usually on Tuesday mornings. We have a rider, so it's not too bad. I kind of enjoy it.

Laughing at you, WT. Good to have you stop by.

Hi, Faye. We're in a semi-rural area, and many, many trees were kept during the construction. In back, my fence borders a hay field. The area there in front of my house is actually a little pond. It's dry most of the time, but it empties into the drainage ditch when we have lots of rain (like this past spring and summer). The front of the neighborhood has homes up to 15 or 20 years old. Ours was finished about March.

Thank you, Alison. I'm glad you liked it!

Maddy is about 4 months old, my4kids. We enjoy her. I can't imagine having two little bitty ones!

Thanks, Hootin' Anni. We really like our neighborhood. Thanks on the photos, too.

I was sitting at a little table on my porch when I took that first pic, Laurie. Believe it or not, I chose that over one that didn't show the light fixture. Go figure.

Oh! I'm melting from the puppy picture!

Yes, Laurie taught you well. There's nothing better than a gratuitous puppy shot!

I like your view(s). It looks like a terrific neighborhood for kids.

What a quiet neighborhood you live in. I live on a busy street and it's rare to not see a car in either direction. I love the blue sky and I totally believe your son about the coyotes.

I don't think I had any comments for about a month after I started posting. Then one came, then another. Now I get a trickle rather than an avalanche, but that's OK.

Looks like you live in a very nice neighborhood...lots of space, not cramped up at all. No snow, but it does look cold!

Your new neighborhood looks very nice. I imagine that your son's fight issue in your first post has been resolved for some time. My son, a nonviolent person, was in a few fights when he was young. In one of those fights, he would not tell me the issue. His friend told me it was because the other boy said something nasty about me. Little did our son know that I neither need or want my honor defended. Ah...youth.

You have such wide open spaces! Houses around London are generally packed close together to fit in as many as possible. Which is why we're so lucky to live where we do!

I'm so enjoying seeing other peoples views today. You really have an undisturbed view. It seems so wide open. Enjoy...

NO see your pictures show wide open spaces!! But your neighborhood looks similar to mind just flatter! Very pretty views!!

Nice pictures - especially the gratuitous puppy pic. Nice addition!

You have a great outlook. It must be so nice to have so much space everywhere how I envy you.

It made me shiver reading about your freaky caller~ so scary!

The area you live in looks lovely. So open and peaceful. I read your first post and you sounded so sad. I'm so glad that that isn't the case now. (It isn't, is it?)

I hadn't realized how close together we started our blogs. Mine was the end of March and I don't think I had any comments either. Well, lets just say that if I did there was an awful lot of arm twisting going on!

All that sky - gotta love the wide open sky!

I know what you mean - it takes me a hundred shots just to get one decent one.

I like where you live. How nice!

You have a very beautiful neighborhood! Nice homes and everything is so open! Must be a great place to live.

You have a very spacious view !

Our neighborhood is outside city limits and everyone has a half acre or so. Even though it looks flat, the land kind of rolls softly instead of climbing steeply.

I'm glad you all liked the shot of little Maddy sleeping. She is growing so quickly and I haven't been very good at showing pictures as she's grown.

The little guy's fight never happened, I don't remember what the problem was, but I think it's in a later post. If you want to go looking. I don't. I was sad, RC. And exhausted. Moving is so hard. And yes, I'm much happier now.

I love getting all of your comments. It's fun going and visiting your blogs and getting to know you a bit. Thanks so much for stopping by, each and every one of you.

Reminds me of home, I grew up in SW MO. I love the first look, seems it keeps you somewhat hidden from the 2nd and 3rd views.

Love the puppy! So pretty.

Very nice neighborhood! And I too read your scare caller post....that is freaky! And it would have creeped me out too!! I don't answer my home phone either. It is always political or someone trying to sell you another credit card! GREAT Blog! I love it!

I agree, your neighborhood looks very much like mine. Just brown. No snow (thank goodness), but just brown at this time of the year.
